This actor wanted several different headshots to choose from. In addition to working with facial expression, two ways to get variety are multiple wardrobe changes and different lighting set ups. I mainly work indoors using window light and artificial studio strobe lights.  I can shoot outdoors – but only when the weather is good. The South Shore of Long Island can have very harsh Winters, very wet Spring seasons, it can be windy, and it can be scorching hot in Summer. Working indoors keeps things consistent and reliable. So I keep a variety of backgrounds here than can be deployed anytime and adding different backgrounds can change things up too.
